Hamiltonians are feeling a lot of pride for their hometown university, because McMaster University was just named one of the top 70 universities in the world by Times Higher Education.
The internationally-recognized annual ranking by Times Higher Education features over 1,500 institutions from all over the world. For the official 2021 ranking, McMaster has made the top 70 by sitting at number 69; an advancement of 3 spots since last year’s list.

Notably, McMaster is also one of only 4 Canadian universities that holds the distinction of being ranked within the top 70.
Not only that, but McMaster has also been steadily climbing its way up the list over time, advancing in the rankings to number 69 from 113 in just four years.
The 2021 Times Higher Education ranking features 1,527 universities from 93 different countries, and carries out its ranking based on a number of criteria including teaching, research, citations, international outlook, and industry income.
