Here are 3 great theatre shows you’ve gotta catch in Hamilton

Live theatre is alive and well in Hamilton, with multiple outstanding productions to catch in the city in the coming weeks.
Degrassi fans will want to head to Theatre Aquarius (190 King William Street) and grab their tickets to Boy Falls from the Sky, a solo music theatre show written and performed by Canada’s Jake Epstein as he chronicles the ecstatic highs and crushing lows of his career as an actor of stage and screen (and yes, he knows Drake).
This hit show has been drawing raves reviews across the country and it lands here in Hamilton from October 25th to November 4th. Tickets are available at theatreaquarius.org!
Also opening this week is Whale Fall, an award-winning and critically acclaimed new play by Hamilton playwright Stephen Near. This intimate drama captures a moving father-daughter relationship in the era of climate change, centring the extinction of Canada’s southern resident orca population.
Featuring local actors Stephanie Lawlor and Raymond Louter under the direction of Aaron Joel Craig, Whale Fall returns to Hamilton at the Hamilton Conservatory for the Arts (126 James Street South) on select dates from October 27th to November 5th after a successful run in Vancouver. Then, from November 3rd to 18th, Hamilton Theatre Inc will be presenting Fun Home, the musical by Jeanine Tesori and Lisa Kron that follows lesbian cartoonist Alison Bechdel (of Bechdel Test fame) through phases of her life growing up in a fractured family at their Pennsylvania funeral home.
It may not sound like a cheery basis for a musical, but Fun Home was a critical and audience success when it premiered on Broadway, winning multiple Tony Awards including Best Musical. Tickets are available at hamiltontheatre.com.
