Getting around it about to become a bit easier for Hamilton’s public transit users, as the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) has launched a brand new mobile app to help streamline trip planning with Hamilton’s bus routes.
The free mobile app is called HSRnow, and can be used by the city’s transit riders to plan out their trips from point A to point B, get upcoming bus information for nearby stops in real time, and get notifications on certain stops and routes regarding delays or other service issues.
#HSRAlert: Starting today, HSR’s new mobile app, HSRnow is now available. Use our free app to plan your trip from A-to-B and to get real-time next bus information for close-by stops. Available on iOS and Android devices. Details: https://t.co/jJAEsFftpP pic.twitter.com/qNoCXA6vEL

The app is also accompanied by an automated Twitter account of the same name, which will provide up-to-date service alerts in real time at all hours of day.
In lieu of the app, transit users can also access service information via text message. By texting ‘HSRnow’ and the applicable stop number to 25370, an automated response with service details will be sent back within one minute.
HSRnow will no doubt be embraced by Hamilton’s public transit siders, as the city continues to find ways of streamlining the transit experience and provide route information that is accurate and to-the-minute.
HSRnow is available for iOS and Android, and is free to downloaded via the App Store or Google Play. To learn more, visit the City of Hamilton website.
