Hudson’s Bay is bringing Zellers back to Canada

“Yep, it’s true. See you soon!”

That’s the message that currently greets visitors on the landing page of Zellers.com, promising the return of this iconic Canadian shopping brand in 2023 after a full decade of absence.

Zellers is returning to Canada courtesy of The Hudson’s Bay Company: the brand’s original parent company that tested the waters for interest in Zellers with a series of in-store pop-ups last year.

According to a release from the Hudson’s Bay Company, the return of Zellers to Canada will be in two primary modes: as miniature shops within existing Hudson’s Bay stores, and through e-commerce for online shoppers.

Though it’s sad that those homey Zellers in-store restaurants won’t also be making a comeback, Canadians will undoubtedly be excited for the nostalgic return of this national shopping icon.

“Zellers is a brand deeply rooted in the Canadian experience,” said Adam Powell, Chief Business Officer for Zellers.

“Spanning generations, people hold distinct connections to Zellers through shared experiences with family and friends, and we look forward to building on that in the future.”

The Hudson’s Bay Company will share more details on the relaunch of Zellers soon, and Canadians can expect the shopping experience to arrive in early 2023.
