Mexican restaurant Vimex Corner has closed its doors in Hamilton

Another sad casualty of 2020, an east Hamilton restaurant for authentic Mexican fare has announced that it is closing its doors.
Vimex Corner, located at Main and Kenilworth in the city’s east end, may not be as prominent a name as other Mexican spots in the city; but those who knew it cited it as some of the best authentic Mexican cuisine in Hamilton, with mouth-watering menu options from tacos to enchiladas to chimichangas.
However, sadly, the spot announced its immediate closure via social media on November 1st.
“We’re really sorry we haven’t let you know in advance because it’s so hard to say goodbye, our heart is broken,” said Vimex Corner’s owners on their Facebook page.
The farewell message was readily met with nearly 100 heartbroken comments from local patrons and food lovers saying goodbye to what, for many, was a favourite local restaurant.
In fact, some of the response makes it clear that Vimex Corner went above and beyond as a spot that really cared about its customer base.
“Going to miss getting a personal call when my favourite special was being made,” reads one notable comment.
