New restaurant will be opening in former This Ain’t Hollywood in Hamilton

Ever since the heartbreaking loss of This Ain’t Hollywood – one of Hamilton’s favourite live music venues – a big question has loomed: what’s going to happen to the space? 

The closure of the iconic venue at 345 James Street North back in 2020 was a major blow to Hamilton’s music scene, and the space has largely remained in limbo ever since. 

The Local Skate Shop took over part of the former This Ain’t Hollywood by moving their shop into the venue’s former green room in Fall of 2021, but any plans for the venue’s main space has been mostly a mystery. 

Until now! Signage has gone up at 345 James Street North indicating that a new restaurant called Le Tambour Tavern will be transforming the space and opening soon. 

Though details on the restaurant are pretty scant at the moment, the word is that Le Tambour – which translates from French as ‘The Drum’ – will serve up a menu with a focus on French cuisine. 

We can’t wait to see what Le Tambour Tavern will bring to the table on the James North strip!
