Rousseau House is officially making the switch to Brewers Blackbird

A local fine dining staple is transforming in ways that will have Hamilton craft beer heads jumping for joy.
Rousseau House, the longstanding popular upscale restaurant on prominent display in Ancaster Village, will officially be closing its doors on November 8th and reopening shortly after with a total facelift.
The restaurant will now be known as Brewers Blackbird Brewery and Kitchen, serving up laidback dishes like wood fired pizza and, of course, plenty of house-brewed local craft beer.
Those who have been keenly following the journey of Brewers Blackbird know this transformation of beloved Rousseau House has been a long time coming; major renovations have been underway for the better part of this year, with a massive extension under construction at the existing restaurant. The spectacular looking addition features floor-to-ceiling windows in a shiny new space attached to the heritage building’s structure.
The buzz on Brewers Blackbird’s social media has created more than its share of excitement from the community, who are thrilled to see Ancaster’s very own craft brewery finally taking shape.
To say goodbye to the old and welcome in the new, Brewers Blackbird is throwing a killer little party on November 8th that will be open to the public.
The restaurant will open that day at 4pm, and guests can come have their first taste of Brewers Blackbird’s beer with celebratory $4 8oz pours of their forthcoming fermented offerings. They’ll also be slinging some sweet wood fired pizza, sliders, and other snacks to give you that first sneak peek of a deliciously stacked menu to come.
While a specific grand reopening date for Brewers Blackbird hasn’t been formally announced yet, the brewery has said it intends to open just before the holidays.
The wait for the full opening is nearly over, but if you just can’t resist getting that first glimpse, drop by Brewers Blackbird’s party to say farewell to Rousseau House on November 8th from 4pm until late and get some beautiful beer in that belly!
