Sherman Access closed for the summer

Is using the Sherman Access part of your daily commute? Starting Monday, July 23, you’re going to have to pick another way to travel up and down the Mountain.

The east leg of the Sherman cut will be closed until the end of August. During this time, crews will install drapery mesh to protect both drivers and the roadway against falling rocks.

The west leg will be closed between August 7 and September 21. City workers will use this six-and-a-half week period to complete the construction work that began last summer.

Between August 7 and August 31, there will be no access to the Sherman Cut.

While there are multiple Mountain accesses in the city, the ones that arrive closest to the Sherman Access’ downtown destination are the Jolley Cut and the Claremont Access.

Does the closure of the Sherman Access disrupt your commute? Let us know in the comments.
