A special weather statement has been issued for the Hamilton and Burlington area that says to expect a significant amount of rain over the next few days, which will include Thursday evening’s Halloween festivities.
The forecast says that rain should start falling Wednesday as a low pressure system moves in from the southwest and ending Friday morning.
A majority of the 30 to 50 mm rainfall is expected to be seen Thursday afternoon, making for a wet start to the evening for trick-or-treaters. Strong winds are also expected Thursday night into Friday morning with gusts up to 70 km/h. Those spending time outdoors on Halloween night are advised to dress warmly and bring along an umbrella; because, hey, no one likes wet candy.
Environment Canada is reminding drivers that rainy conditions could make for hazardous road conditions as weather can suddenly change.
