Someone robbed Resto Chez Chloe in Hess Village

One of Hamilton’s best French bistros has had a rough week.
Resto Chez Chloe – which serves up authentic, casual French dishes and quaint vibes in their Hess Village restaurant space – posted security images to social media that show an unidentified individual inside the restaurant stealing some choice items.
The images show the individual wandering Resto Chez Chloe’s interior, pocketing a beverage from the fridge on top of stealing the restaurant’s valuable Sonos outdoor speaker.
While a robbery is always terrible thing for small businesses, it’s an especially hard blow during a time when many Hamilton restaurants are trying to regain their footing and rebuild their businesses after a tumultuous pandemic year.
“We try so hard!” says Resto Chez Chloe on social media. “No buying decision is made right now without serious consideration and consequence.”
“It is stupid and frustrating to have such an act impact us this much. No lovely French music on the patio for now.”
Dozens of locals have comments in frustrated solidarity and support, saying they’ll keep an eye out for any information that may help and even offering up their own Bluetooth speakers for the time being.
