Sports radio station TSN 1150 in Hamilton abruptly ended by Bell Media

Hamilton’s sports radio station TSN 1150 AM was suddenly replaced by a BNN Bloomberg Radio format that includes a simulcast of BNN Bloomberg’s linear television broadcast rather than local sports news and chat.
The rebranded station joins Bell’s existing BNN Bloomberg Radio station in Vancouver and now also includes specialty programming from their radio service and podcasts.

“We are proud to broaden the scope of BNN Bloomberg Radio with this new station, and to deliver comprehensive business news coverage across an expanded slate of platforms, both locally in Hamilton and across the GTA, and nationally via iHeartRadio,” said Richard Gray, Regional General Manager, Eastern Region, Bell Media, in a press release.
“As markets continue to shift amid these challenging times, BNN Bloomberg continues to be the prime source of financial analysis and insight for Canada’s business leaders.”
The announcement of the rebrand seemed to come with little notice to even presenters who were actively promoting shows on the TSN station a day before the change.
TSN Radio is still being carried by Bell Media stations in Edmonton, Montreal, Ottawa, and Toronto.
