Steel Town Cider Co. has opened a retail shop in Dundas

Hamilton has become known for its craft beer scene, but many locals may not also realize that the city is also becoming a heavy hitter in the craft cider department.

Now establishing itself in the city alongside local offerings like the excellent estate ciders and barrel-aged fare at West Avenue Cider, Steel Town Cider Co. is already making waves with its inventive small-batch hard ciders with enough variety to excite pretty much any palate.

Though Steel Town’s cider has primarily been available for draft pours in restaurants and bars until now, the cidery has just announced that it will be opening its own takeaway retail shop out of its current facility in Dundas.

Open only on Saturdays from 12 pm to 5 pm until further notice, locals can now get their fix of Steel Town’s offerings from a selection of short cans, draft howler fills, and reserve bottles of ciders.

The current lineup includes their flagship Session Cider, a dry cider made with local apples; Daga Carmesi, a wild ferment cider with black tea and can-conditioned with Niagara Montmorency cherry juice; and Ginger Slap, a two year-old cider barrel-aged with ginger.
