This new local streaming service is Spotify for Hamilton musicians

Want to be the first to discover the latest and great local talent before they make it big? Well, a new Hamilton streaming service has taken notes from Spotify and is endeavouring to offer a new point of contact between local artists and widespread audiences.
The streaming service is, fittingly, called Hamontify and exclusively features the music of artists from the Hamilton area.
Born during the COVID-19 pandemic and its devastating impact on the live entertainment industry, Hamontify’s goal is to keep building up the local music scene even while our venues are closed, and allow residents to discover amazing new artists right here at home.
Hamilton musicians are able to promote their music through Hamontify and expose it to untapped audiences on a platform that is totally free for both listeners and artists to use.
Though artists will not currently be able to earn revenue directly through Hamontify, the platform’s intention is to drive new listeners to discover more work by artists that stand out to them and help artists build an audience base even while live performances are currently on pause.
Artists from the Hamilton area currently on offer through Hamontify include Garrett Lajoie, Black Collar Union, This Mad Desire, The Spiral Theory, and Leo Dragtoe; but that’s just the tip of the iceberg in a roster of local musicians spanning a variety of genres and styles.
