With summer right around the corner, who isn’t in the mood for a tasty bowl of ice cream?
Hamilton is full of so many authentic ice cream parlours. Whether you like hard or soft serve, sundaes or milkshakes, Hamilton has a spot for you!
So without further ado, here’s our top 10 ice cream spots in Hamilton for 2023!
10) A&J SugarBowl
This family-owned dessert spot offers ice cream, desserts, and unique drinks. Menu items include Belgian waffles topped with ice cream, ice cream sundaes, bubble tea, freshly made lemonades in a variety of flavours, and much more!
Their most unique menu item is their bubble waffle cone. The homemade cones come in vanilla, chocolate, and green tea. Local customers travel from all over the area just for A&J Sugar Bowl’s unique treats!
9) Tasty Scoop
Tasty Scoop is another family-owned ice cream parlour located in Ancaster. They have a huge variety of hearty treats, so you may have a hard time picking what you want!
Sundaes are a huge hit at this place. You can choose from one of their 34 flavours of ice cream and load it up with the toppings you love to create a delicious sundae.

8) Panini & Ice Cream
Panini & Ice Cream is a Hamilton favourite for delicious food and treats. They are most known for their Half-N-Half: a double decker dessert that is half-milkshake and half-sundae. It comes in many different flavours with a variety of toppings for a hefty and delicious treat!
If you aren’t in the mood for something sweet, they also make amazing paninis ranging from the classics to unique offerings like Doritos & Chicken.
7) Ice Flame
Ice Flame is a fairly new addition to Hamilton, but it’s been nothing but a hit since it opened up. This is one of the few spots in Hamilton that serves rolled ice cream!
Their Premium Ice Cream Rolls come in a variety of flavours such as mango, strawberry, Oreo, M&M, Nutella, and chocolate.

6) Amo Gelato Caffe
This place has the best gelato in town! Amo Gelato Caffe serves authentic gelato in many different flavours and are known for adding loads of toppings.
Their toppings include Oreo, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Fruity Pebbles, Chips Ahoy, French Toast Crunch, Coffee Crisp, and so much more. Amo Gelato Caffe makes a creamy cup of gelato that much better!
5) The Parlour Dairy Bar
The Parlour Dairy Bar serves many different flavours of ice cream as well as other tasty foods and desserts. They have two locations in Hamilton and are most known for their ice cream, milkshakes, floats, grilled cheeses and poutines.
Other menu items include funnel cakes, sundaes, and plenty more food options. This is a great place for a cool treat or something to eat!
4) Diced Ice
Diced Ice doesn’t serve your typical bowl of ice cream. They are one of Hamilton’s only spots for rolled ice cream, and it’s high on the list for a reason!
Their ice cream is poured onto a cold flat-top and shaped into rolls. Their tasty options include cotton candy, apple pie, lemon, Cookie Monster, Oreo, and much more.
The ice cream rolls are topped with delicious toppings to make your treat that much better. This place can get pretty busy on a hot summer day, but it’s worth the wait!
3) Biggies Ice Cream / Big Scoops
These two spots are owned by the same people and have the same menu, so why not combine them!
Biggies Ice Cream and Big Scoops show that they have a true passion for serving some of the best ice cream in town. Their ice cream is delivered from Hewitt’s Dairy which is known to be delectable.
Both parlours are famous for their cup sizes, with the small being a typical large at other ice cream parlours. At Biggies Ice Cream or Big Scoops, you’re getting a large portion for an excellent price!
2) Willard’s Ice Cream
Willard’s Ice Cream is one of the most popular ice cream spots in Hamilton. It is a unique and special place in Hamilton with a passion for making delicious small batch ice cream. Each batch of ice cream is handcrafted with fresh, delicious ingredients.
The cool thing about this place is their constantly changing menu. New flavours are coming and going each week, so there’s something new to try each time. They are also known for their weekly mystery flavour which is disguised as a black colour!
They also have a decent variety of vegan options which is a great plus. Willard’s is located right by Gage Park so you can grab some ice cream and enjoy it in the park!
1) Paradise Ice Cream Parlour
Coming in at number one is Paradise Ice Cream Parlour. This place is your absolute classic ice cream spot with all the favourites. They are known for their selection of over 80 flavours of ice cream; name a flavour and they’ve got it!
Besides your typical hard-scoop ice cream, they serve milkshakes, smoothies, sundaes and even some food items. Their Sunshake is a treat that is half-milkshake & half-sundae, and it will definitely put you in a dessert coma!
Paradise Ice Cream Parlour also has an ice cream truck that can be spotted at various events in the city. If you haven’t tried this place yet, it is definitely a parlour to visit this summer. Their large, tasty menu has something for everyone!
