Tryouts for Hamilton’s Forge FC have begun

More than 220 soccer players made their way to Tim Horton’s Field yesterday to try out for Hamilton’s Forge FC. Even through the rainy October weather, players showed off their skills in hopes of impressing head coach Bobby Smyrniotis and earning their spot on the team.

Today only 56 participants remain and will compete against each other in full-fielded 11-vs-11 matches. By the end of the day, Hamilton will have a good idea of who will make up the 2018-2019 Forge FC team.

Players Paradise

Back in July it was announced that Hamilton would become part of the Canadian Premier League (CPL). Forge FC is one of the CPL’s founding clubs, with six other clubs secured across the country.

Forge FC will play their home games at Tim Hortons Field. With a seating capacity of 14,000 fans, there will be plenty of space for spectators to enjoy the soccer matches.

Forge FC training camp officially opens in February with the first match to take place some time in April.
