Weekend events in Hamilton August 17-18, 2019

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Look no further. We’ve found a wide range of events in and around Hamilton for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Farm Crawl

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: Various locations
Admission: $5 and up, available at any participating farm

Farm Crawl is an opportunity to take an inside look at the operations of many of Hamilton’s farms.

All of the eleven participating farms are excited to both entertain and educate their guests. Each farm is entirely unique and will offer different experiences; be sure to visit all of the farms to get the most out of your experience.

Craftadian – Made in Hamilton Market

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 10 am – 4 pm
Where: McMaster Innovation Park
Admission: $5-8, available online

Soak up the sun this Saturday and enjoy summer vibes at the flagship Craftadian Made in Hamilton Market.

This weekend Craftadian will be spotlighting a curated roster of 80 Hamilton-area makers, a wide variety of homemade gourmet food, as well as lively tunes by DJ Aerlie Wild.

Art in the Parking Lot

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 11 am – 6 pm
Where: The Powerhouse
Admission: Free

Olde Town Stoney Creek Community Association is proud to present Art in the Parking Lot, a 1 day art festival in downtown Stoney Creek.

The event features 40 local artists, artisan vendors and authors, live musicians, a Kidz Creative Zone, and great activities for the entire family.

Hamilton Diecast Association Show and Sale

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 6 – 10 pm
Where: Kingdom Worship Centre
Admission: Free

Long time fan of Hot Wheels and other diecasts? You can’t miss this special Hamilton Diecast Association show and sale.

Thousands of hard to find Hot Wheels and diecast models will be on hand to view and buy. There will also be door prizes, raffles, ice cream, head to head races, and custom builders competitions. Enthusiasts of all ages are invited to attend this show and sale.

DESSERT: Summer Melt Edition

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 10 pm – 2:30 am
Where: Absinthe
Admission: $5

Looking to venture into Hamilton’s drag scene? #AdamAndSteve are putting on an unforgettable show this weekend that’s sure to leave you begging for more.

Come heat up your DESSERT and melt your cares away at Hamilton’s sweetest and sweatiest queer dance party. There’ll be performances by incredibly talented local queens, dancers, a runway contest, and plenty of other surprises.

Dundas Cactus Festival

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 from 12 pm – 11 pm & Sunday August 18, 2019 from 12 pm – 4 pm
Where: Downtown Dundas
Admission: Free

Dundas Cactus Festival is celebrating 44 years of food, fun and community.

Occurring every third weekend in August, the festival attracts visitors from across Canada and is the unofficial homecoming event for any and all who have lived in Dundas. This year’s festival will feature four different entertainment stages, plenty of event zones, and over 100 street vendors.

The Dundas Cactus Festival takes place along King Street West between Market Street and York Road.

Hamilton Greek Festival

When: Saturday August 17, 2019 & Sunday August 18, 2019 from 12 – 9 pm
Where: Inch Park
Admission: Free

Whether you’re proud to be Greek, love the culture, or it’s all Greek to you, be sure to check out this year’s Hamilton Greek Fest.

This event is a great way to spend your weekend with good friends, Greek music, Greek dancing, and of course delicious Greek food. This popular Readers Choice Award winning festival is a must visit!

HOPE Annual Eid Picnic

When: Sunday August 18, 2019 from 10 am – 5 pm
Where: Confederation Beach Park
Admission: $15, tickets available online

Continue your Eid celebrations and donate to a wonderful cause at this weekend’s 7th annual Eid picnic.

Taking place at the Edgewater Pavilion, the Eid picnic will feature water activities, bubble soccer and sports, delicious food, and so much more. A portion of each ticket sale will go to the Help Orphans and Promote Education Foundation.

Hamilton Latino Festival

When: Sunday August 18, 2019 from 11 am – 9 pm
Where: TB McQuesten Park
Admission: Free

The Latin American community in Hamilton has grown significantly in the last few years. As it has been a challenge to promote the images and traditions of Colombians and Latin Americans in Canada, the creators of Hamilton’s Latino Festival want to show Hamilton what being Latin American is all about.

Hamilton’s Latino Festival is absolutely jammed pack with fun for all ages. There will be dance classes, musical performances, a kids tent, vendors and food trucks. Let loose and put on your dancing shoes because this festival is going to be an all day party.

Music at Fieldcote

When: Sunday August 18, 2019 from 6:30 – 9 pm
Where: Fieldcote Memorial Park & Museum
Admission: Free, $5 a person as a suggested donation

Visit Fieldcote Museum this Sunday for an outdoor evening of music.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and find a spot to settle in for the night and be entertained. This weekend’s performers will be David Leask and Poor Angus.
