Weekend events in Hamilton September 15-16 2018

Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Look no further. We’ve found a wide range of events in Hamilton for all ages and interests to enjoy.

Here’s what’s happening in the city this weekend.

Saturday

Yoga with Alpacas and Sheep

Fibre Friends Yoga is pleased to offer an incredible outdoor yoga experience unlike any other. At a Fibre Friends, you will participate in a yoga class amongst alpacas and sheep.

The alpacas are very calm and curious, while the sheep are very well socialized and love being around people. The outdoor setting is very peaceful; the collective humming from the alpacas will ease you into meditation.

Classes begin at 8:30 am and run until approximately 9:45 am. Please arrive by 8:20 am and be sure to bring your own yoga mat and towel. Yoga classes are only $20 and registration takes place online.

Binbrook Fair

Come on out and celebrate 164 years of the Binbrook Fair!

The Binbrook Fair is one of the most highly anticipated fall fairs across the GTHA. Known for their great fair food, midway rides, vendors and nightly smash-up derbies, this family-friendly event is an excellent way to kick off the fall season.

The Binbrook Fair takes place at 2600 Regional Road 56 in Binbrook, Ontario. The fair runs from 10 am to 11:30 pm with adult admission costing $8.

Supercrawl 2018

The wait is over, Hamilton. Supercrawl is finally back!

Supercrawl is a celebration of Hamilton’s thriving arts scene, showcasing various artists, musicians, creators and culinary talents.

In particular, this year’s festival is an ode to great music. As this is Supercrawl’s ten year anniversary, the festival is bringing back past musical headliners to take the stage once again.

Supercrawl takes place along James Street North and runs from 12 pm to 1 am. Admission is free but make sure to bring your wallet to pick up some goodies!

Hamilton Ti-Cats vs. Calgary Stampeders

It’s game day in Hamilton as the Tiger-Cats prepare to take on the Calgary Stampeders. Get outside, enjoy some Saturday afternoon football and cheer on your home team.

The game takes place at Tim Hortons Field and begins at 4 pm. Tickets are available online.

Sunday

Stoney Creek Terry Fox Run

The legacy of Terry Fox lives on with the Terry Fox Run. For over 30 years, people have participated in charity walks and runs to help achieve Terry’s vision – a world without cancer.

This Sunday, all are invited to walk, run, bike or blade a 5km or 10km route along the lake to raise money for the Terry Fox Foundation. All money raised will go toward cancer research. After the run, there will be music, food, prizes and face painting.

The Terry Fox Run begins at 9 am at Hutch’s on the Beach. There is no registration fee and no minimum donation is required; all ages are welcome.

Telling Tales Festival 2018

Have a young one who loves to read? Come visit the Telling Tales Festival!

This free festival celebrates Canada’s leading children’s writers and illustrators. There will be plenty of authors, artists and musicians to meet, as well as yummy food to snack on.

The Telling Tales Festival takes place at Westfield Heritage Village between 10 am and 4 pm. Admission is free but be sure to bring your wallet to purchase some new books!

Remember to park at the Rockton Fairgrounds and catch the free shuttle bus to Westfield, as there will be no parking available at Westfield.

Binbrook Fair

Come on out and celebrate 164 years of the Binbrook Fair!
