Ancaster Fair

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 from 9 am – 9 pm & Sunday September 22, 2019 at 9 am – 5 pm
Where: Ancaster Fairgrounds

The 169th Ancaster Fair mixes fun with a farming focus. It once again offers a cornucopia of livestock shows, entertainers, midway rides, contests, and the demolition derbies.

Yoga With Alpacas

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 at 8 am – 12 pm
Where: Woodhill Rd, Flamborough ON
Admission: $20

Fibre Friends Yoga is pleased to offer an incredible outdoor yoga experience amongst their grazing fibre friends. The collective humming from the alpacas will ease you into meditation, while the fun antics of the sheep are sure to amuse you. This is an exciting opportunity to exercise alongside these sweet and curious animals.

Olympiads Charity Esports Event

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 from 10 am – 6 pm
Where: Tim Hortons Field

Presented by The City of Hamilton and the Ontario eSports League, The Olympiads is a charity event with proceeds going to World Vision Canada, that aims to bring together athletes, sports enthusiasts, and gamers alike. Located inside The Canadian Football Hall of Fame at Tim Hortons Field, check out the details of fun we’ll be bringing!

 

Opening of Hamilton’s First Legal Wall For Street Art

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 at 9 am
Where: Woodlands Park
Admission: Free

Hamilton’s inaugural Legal Wall For Street Art will have artists painting live, on-site in an effort to establish a legal public environment for Hamilton artists. The wall, located at Woodlands Park, will provide necessary space for artists to create. Remarks will be made at 1 pm.

Historic Cooking Workshop: Soupreme

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 at 10 am
Where: Dundurn Castle
Admission:  Starting at $50 available for purchase online.

Victorian cooks will bowl you over with some of their favourite 19th century soups in this hands-on cooking adventure. During this cooking workshop, you’ll receive a demonstration and prepare vegetarian-friendly soup using the wood fired range in the historic kitchen of Dundurn Castle, home of Sir Allan MacNab.

Dark Trolley Tour

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 at 6:30 pm
Where: Pier 4
Admission: Adult $14.16, kids $8.85. Book your tickets here.

Take a ride along the picturesque waterfront at night… with only haunting stories for company! Relax as ominous stories are told over the mic of the open-air Harbourfront Trolley. Featuring Ghosts of the Great Lakes, death and burials in the quiet deep, and the cursed Heights. Stand on the site of Canada’s most tragic historic train disaster. Free and easy parking at Bayfront Park.

Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra Opening Night

When: Saturday September 21, 2019 at 7:30 pm – 9 pm
Where: FirstOntario Concert Hall

Music Director Gemma New kicks off the 19-20 Season with a vibrant program celebrating the natural beauty of our region. Dvořák’s Carnival Overture evokes a bright and bustling scene while Sibelius’ Luonnotar summons the mystical beauty of the sea. Composer-in-Residence Abigail Richardson-Schulte’s The Mermaid and the Fisherman features soprano Stacie Dunlop and Principal Trumpet Michael Fedyshyn. The evening concludes with Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé, a stunning work that evolves from the delicate colours of a sunrise to brilliant orchestral heights.

A Night of Magic at Grain&Grit

When: Sunday September 22, 2019 at 7 pm – 9 pm
Where: Grain & Grit Beer Co.

Join us for an amazing night of live magic and mind-reading, featuring top local magicians! Experience magic up close and in person in our intimate 30 seat space.

We’ve brought together 4 of the area’s favourite magicians. Awesome Mike (Kitchener), Scott Boyd (Cambridge), Wilber Cortez (Kitchener) and Graemazing (Brantford).
