Zero-waste shop The Glass Jar Refillery has opened on the Hamilton Mountain

As single-use waste remains a pervasive environmental issue that has only been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, a new Hamilton-based small business is endeavouring to help locals cut down on their waste with a selection of refillable everyday products.

The Glass Jar Refillery, which has recently opened in a spot on the Hamilton Mountain, was originally set to open up shop on Barton Street earlier this year. However, the pandemic changed those plans, and the sustainable shop is now officially taking up residence at 544 Concession Street.

The shop offers plenty of plant-based cosmetics and body products, from soaps to shampoos skin care products to household cleaning solutions and more.

Best of all, they operate on a Bulk Barn-style “weigh and pay” model, where visitors can bring their own reusable glass containers time and time again and load up on an array of quality zero-waste products.

During the pandemic, The Glass Jar Refillery is open on a shop-by-appointment basis, so locals are encouraged to reach out and book a time to get their sustainable shopping done.

It’s a one of a kind shop here in Hamilton, so check out The Glass Jar Refillery and grab some awesome products that are good for you and for the environment!
