The street will be closed to traffic between Upper Wentworth Street and Poplar Avenue from now until an expected timeframe of October 2023, weather permitting.
The work being completed in the next few months includes widening the pedestrian pathway, building additional cyclist lane features, road resurfacing, tree planting, reconfiguration of parking lots to accommodate more parking space, and installation of black ornamental fencing and other street furniture like bike racks and benches.
This closure also affects access to the Wentworth Escarpment Staircase, which is closed between Wentworth and the Sherman Access to ensure safety in the construction zone.
