A massive fire on Monday afternoon at the new Central Park housing development in Hamilton destroyed 23 units at varying stages of construction.
Hamilton Fire Department was on site around the area of Rymal and Red Hill at approximately 4 pm on Monday to battle the blaze, which were reaching heights of 30 to 40 feet due to strong winds.

It is estimated that approximately $10 million in damages was caused by the gigantic fire, which was controlled by Hamilton Fire in less than an hour.
On top of the 23 under-construction units directly destroyed by the blaze, there were also 12 occupied homes that saw damage like broken windows and melted siding due to the heat. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
The source of the fire is currently unknown but under investigation.
