A heat warning is in effect for Hamilton

Hamilton’s medical officer of health has issued a heat warning for the city, which officially began on Sunday and has rolled through into today.

Through today, temperature highs of 31 degrees Celsius are expected for Hamilton and much of the surrounding area in the Golden Horseshoe.

Locals are advised to stay hydrated and remain in a cool location if possible. The city is offering some designated “cool places” for those who need a place to cool off during local heatwaves.

Heat warnings remain in effect until they are either cancelled by the city or moved into an extended heat warning.

The city expects that the heat warning will end Monday evening as a cooler airmass moves through the region. Check the City of Hamilton website to stay updated.
