A vegan butcher and deli is opening in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market

A unique new spot for deli-style meats and cheese is opening in the Hamilton Farmers’ Market.

What makes it unique, you ask? Their product line is 100 per cent plant-based.

Nonno’s is the newest vegan venture by the team behind popular plant-based fast food joint Bring Me Some, which started out as a stand in the Farmers’ Market before moving to its own brick & mortar location on Concession Street.

This new vegan butcher & deli looks like it’s attempting to capture the feel of hitting up your old-school neighbourhood deli, with the key difference being that there’s no actual meat or dairy in sight.

On top of selling cold cuts and wheels of vegan cheese, Nonno’s will also be whipping up Italian-style deli sandwiches, salads, house-made sauces, and frozen take-home fare.

“The inspiration behind Nonno’s Butcher comes from our deep respect for Italian cooking and a desire to create plant-based versions of classic Italian dishes,” reads a message from the Nonno’s team.

A firm opening date is still to come, but locals can follow Nonno’s on social media to stay updated!

Wow, a butcher selling only plants. I’ll for sure make a trip to Hamilton to try this. Very forward thinking, for the animals, for the environment, for our health.

A butcher selling plant products is not a butcher
