Earlier this year, Councillor Jason Farr announced that the John Rebecca Park project had been green-lit. Plans for the Beasley neighbourhood park have existed since 2010 meaning it’s taken eight years for this project to see progress.
Once built, the park will take over the block between Rebecca St., King William St., John St., and Catharine St. Currently the block is home to Club Seventy Seven, Lulu’s Shawarma, and a large parking lot.
The exact layout of the John Rebecca Park is still up for debate. Tonight, Hamiltonians get the chance to weigh in and discuss the proposed park designs.

The current concept plans will be presented tonight at Beasley Community Centre. The event space is open from 6 pm to 8 pm, with the formal presentation taking place at 7 pm. Staff will present to answer questions and hear feedback.
Construction of the John Rebecca Park is slated for 2019.
