The Hamilton Harbour Remedial Action Plan received a $205,000 boost after the federal government provided further funding to Conservation Halton to help restore the water quality and ecosystem in Hamilton Harbour.
MPs and local politicians gathered in LaSalle Park on Wednesday to make the announcement that will contribute to efforts that will delist spans between Burlington and Hamilton as an area of concern for environmental degradation.

Funding will be used to help start the action plan locally, conduct public and stakeholder outreach, and support the development of beneficial use impairment (BUI) assessment reports and more.
BUIs find problems in the harbour that are caused by unwanted changes to the chemicals in the ecosystem, which result in limited use, according to the Bay Area Restoration Council.
Conservation Halton said they are in their 20th year of moving toward proper restoration of the ecosystem and water quality.
