Employee at a Hamilton No Frills tests positive for COVID-19

Frank’s No Frills on the Hamilton Mountain at the corner of Upper Sherman and Rymal Road announced on Monday that one of their employees tested positive for COVID-19.

The store released a statement on social media and closed to the public on Monday to initiate a deep cleaning of the building. The location has since reopened.

A statement from management says the positive employee hasn’t been in the store since April 9th and didn’t show any symptoms before then.

No Frills said in a statement that they have been following health guidelines by undergoing daily sanitation and physical distancing practices. Management is instructing those who may have worked at the No Frills at the same time as the positive employee to self-isolate at home.

Cases that are related to businesses or residences are not being confirmed by Hamilton Public Health, so it’s unclear if this case is part of the total numbers for the city.

Hamilton had 271 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of this Wednesday, with 38 people hospitalized and 10 patients dead due to complications from the novel coronavirus.
