Four Hamilton Beer Stores have started collecting empties again

Those who might have accumulated a lot of empty beer cans and bottles while staying home can finally return them again, as four Hamilton Beer Store locations resumed collecting empties this week.

The Beer Store announced that they would be reopening their empty collection service at 71 stores across Ontario starting April 6th.

Hamilton locations include 1408 Upper James near Stone Church, 150 Barton Street East near Wellington, 1111 Barton East near Ottawa and 282 Parkdale Avenue North at Barton.

The Beer Store says that it will provide more personal protective equipment to locations resuming empty collection, and enforce physical distancing as they expect increased traffic.

There is no information when the rest of the locations will continue collecting empties. Empty collection was stopped by The Beer Store on March 9th as a response to COVID-19.

Seven total Beer Store distribution centres will also have empty container returns every Sunday, including the location at 414 Dewitt Road near the South Service Road in Stoney Creek.

However, the centres will not be accepting large quantities of bottles, with each site set up as a drive-thru operation.
