Gamers can represent Hamilton at nationwide FIFA 20 championship

The world of competitive online gaming has grown tremendously over the last few years, and that is no different for players of the most popular soccer video game in the world.

Local FIFA gamers will have an opportunity to compete in city qualifiers in order to represent Hamilton’s own Forge FC soccer team in the eCPL final in Toronto.

Players can register to compete in either the live city qualifier or the online club qualifier. The live city qualifier will bring players together to compete in a round of games to see who can represent Forge FC in the finals. The online club qualifier is pretty much the same thing, but played online from your home console.

The winner of each qualifier will have a chance to compete in Toronto for the chance to win $10,000.

This year marks the first season of the eCPL with the opportunity for players nationwide to be crowned FIFA champion. The eCPL is the Canadian Premier League’s official EA SPORTS FIFA competition. This is an official event as the eCPL is a partner of the EA SPORTS FIFA 20 Global series on the road to the FIFA eWorld Cup.

Registration for both qualifiers in Hamilton is now open. The live qualifier will take place on March 28th with the location still to be announced. The online qualifier will take place on the weekend of March 21st and 22nd
