Hamilton brewery for barrel-aged beer opens Dundas taproom

A Hamilton brewery known for its barrel-aged beers brewed in old-world styles has opened a new taproom and bottle shop in Dundas.

Barrel Heart Brewing was previously located at 53 Bittern Street in Ancaster but has freshly relocated to the Old Post Office at 104 King Street West on the Downtown Dundas strip.

The brewery sets itself apart by offering up saisons and blended beers that have been aged for months in oak wine barrels and often refermented with Ontario fruit like raspberries or plums at peak season, resulting in beer that’s flavourful, zippy, robust, and complex.

In fact, many of the offerings feel as though they bridge the gap between beer and wine: something to be slow-sipped and considered rather than pounded back.

The gorgeous new taproom currently features ten of Barrel Heart’s own exceptional beers on tap for sipping on site, as well as bottles to purchase and enjoy at home.

A wonderful addition to Downtown Dundas, go visit Barrel Heart Brewing at 104 King Street East on Tuesday through Thursday from 4 pm to 9 pm and Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 9 pm!

See more on their website.
