Hamilton home to North America’s fastest growing airport

John C. Munro Hamilton International Airport has made national news this week, being recognized by Airports Council International as North America’s fastest growing airport. Serving nearly 600,000 passengers in 2017, Hamilton International achieved an 80% growth in passenger traffic since 2016.

Part of this jump in growth is due to Hamilton International successfully appealing to their target audience. This airport understands not only do Hamiltonians want to travel for fun, but they also prefer to do so on a budget.

Being home to budget airlines such as Swoop and Flair, Hamilton International is able to offer passengers low-cost travel options and affordable parking.

Hamilton International is also Canada’s largest overnight express cargo airport. The airport plays an important role when it comes to moving goods across the country and to remote northern communities.

Operating 24/7, the airport’s large cargo facilities are also positioned to support the rapidly growing e-commerce industry.

As Hamilton International’s travel roaster continues to grow, so will its overall growth. We can’t wait to see where Hamilton will be flying to next!

Have you ever flown out of Hamilton International Airport? What’s your favourite part about travelling? Let us know in the comments.
