Hamilton just broke a 33 year-old cold temperature record

This November 13th gave us the coldest weather Hamilton has seen in 33 years, shattering previous low temperature records according to Environment Canada.

The previous record for lowest November 13th temperature in the city was set in 1986 at -9.6 degrees Celsius, and the record was broken as of this morning when Hamilton saw temperatures drop to -13 degrees (feeling like -18 degrees when factoring in wind chill).

Luckily, the temperature low didn’t stick throughout the day; the rest of the day’s weather in Hamilton sits around a comparably milder -3 degrees Celsius until late this evening.

With record-breaking temperature drops and this week’s surprisingly early snowstorm hitting Hamilton, it looks like the city may be seeing a particularly harsh winter forthcoming. Let’s hope the worst of it gets out of the way early!
