Hamilton pizza place wins World’s Best Cheese Slice at International Pizza Expo

One of Hamilton’s most popular pizza places has freshly earned global recognition for its cheese slice.
Cowabunga Pizzeria has been a dominating force in Hamilton’s pizza scene since it opened in 2020, known for chef-driven pies made with high quality ingredients in classic and inventive styles.
It’s said that a pizza place’s quality is best judged by its simple, humble cheese slice. After all, the slice can’t hide behind a barrage of fancy ingredients: good cheese, good sauce, and strong craft are on full display.
That’s why it’s extra exciting that Cowabunga has taken home the title of World’s Best Cheese Slice at the 2024 International Pizza Expo, beating out global competition for the title.
Cowabunga’s own Andy Huynh was on hand to craft the perfect pizza slice that earned the champion title in the International Pizza Challenge, making this Hamilton favourite the only Canadian pizzeria to do so in 2024.
