Hamilton Public Library seeks artist submissions for a new mural

One of the newest community centres in Hamilton is looking to add some creative design to one of its exterior walls.

Hamilton Public Library is currently looking for professional artists and artist-led groups to complete a mural outside the new Valley Park Branch and recreation building at Paramount Drive.

They are accepting proposals right now with the expected completion date sometime in Spring 2022.

There is a call out for artists and artist-led teams who have the technical skills to provide the work in a still, digital format. Hamilton Public Library is responsible for printing and installing the mural.

Successful artwork should be a representation of one or both of the selected themes including the history of Upper Stoney Creek and the local geographic environment, said a statement released by Hamilton Public Library.

The mural will be printed onto panels with a total combined length of about 14 metres and height of almost 4 metres.

Interested artists should submit their proposals by June 20th. More information can be found on the Hamilton Public Library website
