Proposed designs for the forthcoming viewing platform at Albion Falls have been released to the public, and Hamilton residents can weigh in on their favourite concept.
The iconic 19-metre cascade waterfall – one of Hamilton’s numerous iconic natural landmarks – is a popular spot for both locals and tourists to visit, and currently has a viewing platform at the waterfall’s north side.

New proposals for a south-side viewing platform include a woodline lookout and a serpentine lookout, both featuring different physical shapes that come off access points beginning at a concrete entry way and headed down a set of metal stairs.
The simple designs would both allow visitors the chance to get considerably closer to the falls than the north-facing platform permits, in line visually with the approximate midway point of the falls’ height.
Locals can visit the city website right now and cast their votes on their favourite proposed platform design. Public opinion will factor into the city’s decision on which platform will ultimately be constructed.
