A Hamilton restaurant and bar has announced it will be closing its doors after just a few months of operation.
The Lockesmith is a gastropub located at 137 Locke Street South in the former home of longstanding craft beer bar and kitchen Brux House.
The new restaurant, though under different ownership, showed shades and shadows of what Brux House used to be with a menu favouring elevated pub food, local and international beer, cocktails, and more.
Though The Lockesmith has only been fully open since April 5th of this year, the restaurant has sadly announced that its time on Locke Street is coming to an end.
“Taking over this iconic space has been both a dream and a challenge – in these past months we’ve enjoyed every moment of being a part of Locke Street, getting to know our neighbours (the human kind and the furry kind), and welcoming you in for a cold pint or a hot meal,” wrote The Lockesmith in a social media post.
“Sadly, despite our best efforts, we have faced challenges that have led us to this difficult decision to close our doors.”
The restaurant’s final dinner service will be tomorrow – Saturday, August 19th – so head on over for a final plate and pint before The Lockesmith formally bids farewell!
