Hamilton self-portrait studio is closing its doors

A Hamilton photography studio that allowed visitors to take professional quality self-portraits has announced its forthcoming closure.
Recess Photo Studio, located at 111 King Street East, first opened less than a year ago in June 2023 as a space where locals could up their selfie game by taking self-portraits with professional equipment and backgrounds.
It’s a fun idea that found many fans in Hamilton who used Recess for everything from headshots to family photos; but sadly, the studio has announced that they will be closing up shop with their last day set for April 28th, 2024.
“It has been a pleasure sharing so many special moments with you, your families, friends, loved ones and (of course) you fur babies too!” wrote Recess in a post on social media.
“Though we wish we could stay here longer, we are grateful for the time that we have shared with all of you, and hope you enjoyed Recess as much as we have.”
It’s always sad to see a small business shutter in Hamilton, but locals can pay Recess a visit over the next month for one last photo session!
