Hamilton shop Kool Stuff Toys closes after 25 years

A longstanding Hamilton shop for toys and more has closed up shop after a quarter-century in business.
Kool Stuff Toys, located at 847 King Street East, has been open since 1998 and become well known for specializing in vintage toys, collectibles, and other treasures.
It’s not uncommon to find Star Wars, Planet of the Apes, Spider-Man, Hot Wheels, Smurfs, My Little Pony, Transformers, and well beyond in their playful lower city shop headed by owner Jeff Smith, who launched the shop himself 25 years ago.
The shop, however, has sadly closed its doors due to a significant increase in their rent, which their landlord has more than doubled as of July 1st of this year.
It’s heartbreaking to see such a sturdy fixture of King Street East say goodbye; Hamilton will certainly be a fair bit less fun and nostalgic without Kool Stuff Toys.
