Hamilton singer-songwriter Ellis releases video for new song ‘Saturn Return’

Buzz is starting around Hamilton artist Ellis up to the release of her first album Born Again. Leading up to the album’s release next week, Ellis premiered a video for her new dream-pop song “Saturn Return” on Wednesday.
Also known as Linnea Siggelkow, the Hamilton musician has gained notoriety after her impressive, independently-released debut EP The Fuzz.
Ellis has already shared songs ‘Fall Apart,’ ‘Embarrassing,’ and ‘March 13’ from her new full-length record. So far, the releases have come with a lot of acclaim.

Stereogum said that they like everything they’ve heard so far and they suggest “Ellis is getting ready to level up big-time, taking her expressive dream-pop into new realms.”
Directed by Michael Pugacewicz, the “Saturn Return” video shows three different actors playing Ellis as they all dream of an impossible better time in the future.
The song itself features sumptuous shoegaze guitars and guttural bass tones, starting slow and building into something heavier and fuller.

Siggelkow was born in Saskatchewan and moved to London, Ontario with her family when she was a teenager. She later moved to Toronto to work on her music project Ellis, only to move to Hamilton later in search of a smaller, more relaxed music scene.
