Hamilton’s Shawn & Ed Brewing Co. unveils 5 must-see events for October

For craft beer lovers of Hamilton, Shawn & Ed Brewing Co. needs no introduction.
Located in the gorgeous old Dundas Curling and Skating Rink just off the main Downtown Dundas strip for 7 years, the brewery has become a draw for its mainstay range of craft lagers and seasonal brews that are as high quality as they are accessible.
The brewery, founded by long-time friends Shawn Till and Ed Madronich, has only continued to grow in the years since it opened, becoming both a destination for great craft beer and a fully-equipped hub for events.
In fact, a grant from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario allowed Shawn & Ed Brewing Co. to make some major upgrades to its stage setup, lighting, and sound this past year; and the brewery is ready to show them off with a stacked list of events this October, perfect for a fun night out.
First up on October 13th is Duelling Pianos: two incredible pianists go head-to-head in an interactive show that incorporates popular music, comedy, and audience participation, with the full night of music created based on audience requests. This is the 5th time the brewery has hosted Duelling Pianos and it sells the place out every time!
Next on October 15th is the Stand with Ukraine Fundraiser, a concert to raise funds in support of the United Nations Refugee Agency for Ukraine relief. Fittingly, the featured performer is Kommuna Lux: a band originally from Odessa, Ukraine known for their shimmering takes on Klezmer and Ukrainian folk. This is sure to be a great night of music for a great cause.
After that, Laughs on Tap takes the stage on October 20th, featuring stand-up comedian and two-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee Rhiannon Archer; and October 21st sees musician Paul Anthony perform his Johnny Cash tribute show Folsom Prison Revisited.
Finally, there’s the cleverly titled ‘Shawn of the Ed’ Halloween Dance Party on October 28th, which makes use of the silent dance party concept. Attendees can throw on headphones and show off their moves while jamming to one of three different channels curated by the DJ, or opt for a more chill party minus the music by kicking back with friends over a wood-fired pizza and pint of LagerShed. Costumes are, of course, strongly encouraged!
It’s an eclectic mix of events that’s just the tip of the iceberg for Shawn & Ed Brewing Co, who are filling their beautiful brewery with a steady stream of fun things to do; just like they’re filling up glasses with great local craft beer.
