Hamilton’s Shawn & Ed Brewing launches program supporting local restaurants

Dundas craft brewery Shawn & Ed is launching the Fork Out 4 Take Out program that is designed to support local hospitality businesses across Hamilton during the pandemic.

Fork Out 4 Take Out is a program that will highlight local restaurants and bars with Shawn & Ed Brewing sharing local businesses on their social media platforms telling the best way people can support them.

This current effort is the second initiative intended to help industries in the community most impacted by the pandemic. Shawn & Ed launched the Frontline Friends campaign earlier this year where they gave almost 25,000 free beers to frontline workers in the city.

“This will not be limited to businesses that carry our products. We want to encourage everyone to Fork Out 4 Take Out and continue supporting local businesses by spreading the word on social media,” said brewery president Ed Madronich in a release on the company’s website.

Shawn & Ed Brewing is also encouraging locals to post their favourite restaurants on social media via their Instagram story and tag the brewery, who will then share it on their own platform

The hashtag #ForkOut4TakeOut has been created to help people start conversations and tag local businesses in order to help them with some exposure during a difficult period.

Also, as a thank you for supporting local, Shawn & Ed Brewing is offering a free beer to anyone who takes part in the social media campaign.

With everyone being comfortable with different things during the pandemic, the brewery is still offering an “I Owe You a Pour” to claim a beer in the future.
