Here’s where you can pick a pumpkin in Hamilton

Autumn is here. Do you have your pumpkin yet?

If picking pumpkins at pumpkin patches is a particularly prominent piece of your fall prep, you’re in luck; the Hamilton area is brimming with local farms and purveyors for you to grab those gorgeous gourds.

Here are all of the best places to pick your pumpkin this fall in Hamilton.

Dyment’s Farm

This classic family farm in Dundas is open every weekday from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm for pumpkin picking as well as other fun outdoor activities for the whole family. They’re even open on Thanksgiving Monday! Tickets can be purchased online in advance, and walk-ups will be accommodated if possible (though, it’s not guaranteed).

Merry Farms

Though no walk-in visitors will be accepted at this local farmstead, Merry Farms is open for pumpkin picking and a whole host of other fun fall activities Friday through Sunday each week, as well a Thanksgiving Monday. Tickets must be purchased in advance on the farm website.

Lindley’s Farm

There won’t be hayrides or a corn maze this year due to COVID-19, but pumpkin patch access is still open for access through the long weekend, including Thanksgiving Monday. No reservations are required, but visit the farm website for more information.

Hanes Corn Maze

This famous corn maze has returned again for another year, alongside their pumpkin patch that allows you to pick your own pumpkin for $5! If visitors want to explore the corn maze, reservations must be made in advance through the Hanes Corn Maze website.

Hutchinson Farm

This Burlington family farm has also got the goods for pumpkins and squash this year, from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays (including Thanksgiving Monday) and 9 am to 5 pm on weekends. This one takes walk-in visitors; no reservation required. Check out their website for details.

Soup-To-Go

This Waterdown spot is open Thursdays through Mondays from 9 am to 5 pm, with their onsite bakery and pumpkin patch open to the public with no reservations required.

Wyatt Farm Organics

If you’re not in a pick-you-own kind of mood, Wyatt Farm Organics out in Millgrove is offering a stand of pre-picked pumpkins for a quick and easy experience!

Shearlea Acres Farm

Located in Lynden, Shearlea Acres is open daily from 10 am to 6 pm. Uniquely, the farm sells their pumpkins at 40 cents per pound, and visitors able to accurately guess the weight of their chosen pumpkin within 1/4 of a pound gets to take it home for free (to a maximum of $8)!

Murphy’s Country Produce

Located in Binbrook, this farm offers both pick-your-own and pre-picked produce grown right on the estate, including those coveted fall pumpkins and squash. Open Thursday through Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.

Taylor Farms

While this Dundas farmstead doesn’t have a pick-you-own pumpkin patch available, they are selling their own pumpkins starting at $2 each and priced based on size.

Carluke Orchards

This Ancaster-based farm and orchard not only has a pick-your-own pumpkin patch available, they’ve also got 13 varietals of estate-grown apples to pick from! Carluke Orchards is open Tuesday to Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm, and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.
