As a final gift of the holiday season, the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) will be offering riders free transit service after 6 pm for those looking to get around the city safely on New Year’s Eve; especially after a couple of, um, celebratory adult beverages.

It will be operating on a regular weekday schedule and offering an extended evening service on most routes. The Trans-Cab service will be running on regular weekday hours.
Select routes will be running as late as 2:30 am on New Year’s Eve. The late night service provides customers with safe transportation after they celebrate and ring in the new decade.
Several routes will also have increased service, with buses coming every 15 to 20 minutes. One regular late night evening trip has changed slightly on 1-King, 24-Upper Sherman, 25-Upper Wentworth and 35-College.

Extending the New Year’s Eve service is part of a broader strategy to build a more modern service that improves customer experience, providing service that is customer-focused, safe and reliable.
