Large water main break affecting numerous East Hamilton residents

As of early Thursday morning, a sizeable water main break is currently affecting a number of residents in East Hamilton.

Hamilton Water is responding to the water main break, which has occurred at Cannon Street East and Sanford Avenue North in the city’s Gibson neighbourhood in Ward 3.

Nrinder Nann, Ward 3’s city councillor, tweeted the news this morning, stating that traffic in the area is currently down to one lane and a patch of the bike lane lining Cannon East is currently closed.

Additionally, due to the location and severity of the water main break, some neighbourhood residents are temporarily experiencing low to no water pressure.

A full repair and reopening of the affected lanes is expected to occur by 4 pm today.
