New Hamilton pizza pop-up is slinging stellar pies

Pizza lovers have a new spot to get excited about in Hamilton.
Smithers Sausages, known for making excellent handmade sausages as well as condiments like barbecue sauces and mustards, has launched a branch called Smithers Slices: a new pizza pop-up specializing in high quality pies.
Operating out of the Kitchen Collective at 811 King Street East, Smithers Slices is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 pm to 9 pm throughout September, with the option to pre-order pizzas by email or simply walk in and place an order.
The weekly lineup of pies is subject to shift, but locals can likely expect options like the Cup and Char Pepperoni, made with pepperoni from Venetian Meats; Matthew’s Mushroom Mayhem, which is topped with porcini cream sauce, marinated mushrooms, goat cheese, and caramelized onions; or the Cheddar Bacon Sausage, loaded with Smithers’ own cheddar bacon sausage as well as crispy onions, roasted broccoli, and homemade ranch.
The pizzas are excellent: built on a crust that’s just the right level of thinness and made largely with homemade and locally sourced ingredients.
