New HSR Consultation Bus lets Hamiltonians weigh in on local transit

The Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) has launched a city bus that lets Hamilton residents climb on board to have their say about local transit.

Coming in the wake of an onslaught of announcements and plans for the next few years of re-envisioned public transit initiatives, the HSR has introduced the Consultation Bus, which is travelling around Hamilton to gather feedback and data from Hamiltonians living in all parts of the city.

This isn’t a one-and-done deal, either; the HSR plans to have the Consultation Bus driving around the city to stop in neighbourhoods and at local events regularly for the next few years, staying in touch with the community’s voice as transit plans continue to take shape.

How does it work? The Consultation Bus is fitted with two interactive touch screen displays, on which Hamiltonians can explore or weigh on route mapping, trip planning, and general idea sharing.

The data collected will help inform the public’s stance on certain transit issues, allowing the city to approach forthcoming transit plans accordingly.

It’s an important time to add your voice to Hamilton’s public transit plans, so climb aboard and have your say!

A full schedule for the HSR Consultation Bus is available on the City of Hamilton website. To request that the Consultation Bus stop in your neighbourhood, email reenvision@hamilton.ca
