One of Hamilton’s best spots for fine, rustic Italian cuisine has plans to open a market for Italian treats and much more.
In just a few years, Castelli Cucina has become a fixture of the James Street North strip, serving up high quality takes on both traditional and modern Italian dishes from hearty pastas to Neapolitan pizzas to antipasti.
Owner and Chef Daniel Mancini is currently at work on Castelli Mercato, a sister establishment to Castelli Cucina that will open in Ancaster sometime this year.
Though details on the new shop – including location and opening date – are pretty scant, it’s clear that Castelli Mercato will function like an Italian-style market selling homemade pasta sauces, pantry items, and decadent desserts like cannoli.
A couple of tantalizing images on their Instagram feed are enough to grab our attention, and we’ll be watching with unblinking eyes – and growling stomachs – to see when this new local spot is set to open its doors!
Follow Castelli Mercato on social media for updates.
