Over the weekend, Hamilton Police responded to a vehicle crash along Barton Street for which a driver crashed their car through the front façade of a storefront along the strip.
A photo of the crash was posted to Facebook, which shows police surrounding a black vehicle which had been driven straight through the front window of 663 Barton Street East, directly beside Hendry’s Barbershop.
Three cars through buildings in one area of the city in a few months. I wish Council would do something about this but instead they love urban highways. S/o @NrinderWard3 for fighting to make Ward 3 a safer place. pic.twitter.com/B5D5piVJwS

No public information has been released about the driver, nor are there currently any public details about any investigation related to the incident, including the extent of any damages or whether or not anybody was injured.
This also isn’t the first time in recent months that a vehicle has crashed through a storefront somewhere in Hamilton’s east end.
Late last year, Cannon Coffee and Big Top Family Restaurant both separately saw someone drive through the front facades of their storefronts at Cannon & Ottawa and Main & Sherman, respectively; undoubtedly tough blows made tougher by the existing difficulties of the pandemic.
The incident at Cannon Coffee also inspired some heartwarming community uprising, with the cafe giving away free coffee from their shattered storefront and accepting donations from locals to lessen the blow of the incident; an event people came out in droves to support.
