In operation since 1944, The Trocadero Tavern is a high-class Italian restaurant and staple in Hamilton’s culinary scene. Open only for dinner on Fridays & Saturdays, the Trocadero Tavern is a fabulous experience for anyone looking to have an extravagant evening.
Claimed to be the first eatery in the city to offer panzarottis, Valentino’s offers an incredible selection of Italian menu items from homemade mini arancini to shrimp & scallop linguine. Their pizzas are made with homemade dough and their panzarottis are some of the best you’ll ever have.
Romano’s Ristorante features quality cuts of meat, chicken, and seafood to create extravagant dishes, while also serving up the classics like pizza and pasta. Prepared expertly by their team of chefs, this East Mountain restaurant vows to use only fresh and as much local produce as possible to ensure a quality experience every time.
La Cantina is a quaint family-owned venture that started almost 30 years ago. Their pizzas are cooked to perfection in a wood-burning oven and served with plenty of creative toppings while their pastas range from classic Italian favourites to original creations by their chefs. They also have fresh salads perfect for something on the lighter side or local grilled meat entrees for a more rustic and hearty meal.
IZZY’s is top of mind when it comes to variety. Their extensive drink menu features several international red & white wines as well as an awesome selection of beer, cider, and cocktails. And don’t even get us started on the pasta! There’s a ridiculous number of dishes to select from but if we had to pick our fav five it’d be the gnudi, penne arrabiata, lasagna, fettuccini, or spaghetti.
Chef & owner Tony Chiarot has been serving authentic Italian food for 30 years and it shows in his dishes. Not only is the food amazing, the prices are very fair.
La Piazza Allegra pride themselves on the quality of their food and service. All menu items are made in-house by their talented chefs using only the freshest of ingredients. Their dishes are phenomenal and their lounge offers the perfect balance of comfort and elegance.
A stunningly beautiful restaurant serving savoury Italian dishes, in-house pasta and wonderful pizzas and apps. Not to mention an incredible selection of wines, beers and cocktails. While CIMA’s only been around for a few months, they’ve quickly propelled themselves to one of Hamilton’s top Italian food destinations.
Inspired by the true love of Italian cuisine using original DOP (Denominazione Origine Protetta) imported product from Italy, Claudio’s is recognized by the Ospitalità Italiana (i.e. has the official Italian stamp of approval) and thrives on creating an authentic Italian experience for all their guests.
Serving over 30 artisan pasta sauces all made from scratch, which are then coupled with your choice of sauce leads to a seemingly endless combination of pasta dishes. La Spaghett also offers premium salads and crostinis which include “only the finest ingredients selected from local markets”. For dessert, a wide selection of Dufflet’s cakes and pastries await you. And to wash it all down, partake in a glass of wine from an ever changing selection from private vineyards, many of which are not available at the LCBO.
