The Handmaid’s Tale is currently filming season 4 in Hamilton

The internationally acclaimed Emmy Award-winning television series The Handmaid’s Tale has landed back in Hamilton once again as production for the show’s 4th season is underway.

Film crews and large, iconic set pieces from the show were spotted last week at the city’s iconic Hutch’s on the Beach: a local landmark and popular summer spot by the beach strip at Confederation Park.

Other locales around the Hammer are also certain to be taken over by the filming of The Handmaid’s Tale in their 4th season; after all, the city has played notable host to the immensely popular television series since the very beginning, with numerous landmarks and notable locales regularly appear onscreen.

Based on the hit 1985 novel of the same title by Canadian author Margaret Atwood, The Handmaid’s Tale envisions a dystopian, totalitarian state and uses timely social commentary to put a strongly feminist lens on the realities of a patriarchal society.

The series stars Emmy winners Elisabeth Moss as Offred and Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, alongside actors Joseph Fiennes, Yvonne Strahovski, Alexis Bledel, Madeline Brewer, and Bradley Whitford.

Season 4 of The Handmaid’s Tale is set to premiere on Hulu on April 28th, 2021.
