The Lister Block Annex updated renderings are here

Back in January, it was announced that LiUNA would develop an extension to the Lister Block building on a neighbouring piece of land it owns on King William Street.

Upon completion, LiUNA will sell the new extension (dubbed ‘The Lister Annex’) to the City of Hamilton who already rents office space for staff members at The Lister Block.

We now have updated renderings of the project provided by Lintack Architects Incorporated.

The building will be 6 stories tall, with the ground floor reserved for a restaurant. The 5 storeys of office space above the restaurant will be directly connected with the existing City offices, providing 15,981 square feet of additional space. The total cost for the project is estimated to be $15 million.

Completion of the new Lister Annex will fill the final vacant lot (known as a “missing tooth”) on the North side of King William Street between James and John.

King William, which has exploded in its patronage in recent years, is known as “the restaurant row” among locals for the plethora of restaurateurs operating out of the narrow strip including HAMBRGRRust City Brewery, Berkeley North, The French, and The Mule.

When announced back in January, the expected completion was slated for end of 2018 but that timeline was clearly off, as in the case with most construction.

Still, we’re excited about King William’s continued transformation.
